Shunt capacitors for a.c. power systems having a rated voltage above 1 000 V — Part 2: Endurance testing, which is an adoption, without modification, of the identically titled CEI/IEC (Commission Électrotechnique Internationale/International Electrotechnical Commission) Technical Specification 60871-2 (second edition, 1999-06). It supersedes the previous edition published in 1998 as CAN/CSA-C871-2,
Shunt capacitors for a.c. power systems having a rated voltage above 660 V — Part 2: Endurance testing (adopted CEI/IEC 871-2:1987).
This Technical Specification was reviewed for Canadian adoption by the CSA Technical Committee on Shunt Power Capacitors, under the jurisdiction of the Strategic Steering Committee on Power Engineering and Electromagnetic Compatibility, and has been formally approved by the Technical Committee. A list of the members of the Technical Committee is available upon request. This Technical Specification has been approved as a National Standard of Canada by the Standards Council of Canada.
Scope and object:
This technical specification applies to capacitors according to IEC 60871-1 and gives the requirements for overvoltage cycling and ageing tests of these capacitors.
